Thanks for joining me!
‘Oscar Wilde said that if you know what you want to be, then you inevitably become it – that is your punishment, but if you never know, then you can be anything. There is a truth to that. We are not nouns, we are verbs. I am not a thing – an actor, a writer – I am a person who does things – I write, I act – and I never know what I am going to do next. I think you can be imprisoned if you think of yourself as a noun’ – Stephen Fry

This blog has been a long time coming, I’ve gone back and forth for a while on whether or not to actually take the leap and started and stopped a few times but now; as the title suggests, the journey begins.
Those that know me personally will know that I wear my heart on my sleeve and speak openly about mental health and feelings wherever possible. This blog is the start of taking all of the revelations and realisations that I have had in my recent ‘journey’ of self-discovery and getting them out there for others to read and hopefully relate to.
I believe that for many people talking through issues or concerns helps to process the emotion behind it and to take steps to grow. This blog aims to describe my experiences with many issues and concerns I have had in my life and offer you a viewpoint and a possible route of navigation that you can read through that might help you to navigate your own similar issues or concerns and feel less alone.
A very dear friend of mine who has sadly had their fair share of traumatic experiences once told me that they hoped that their suffering and pain was not in vain. This blog aims to capture the essence of that thought. Humans suffer trauma. Some people’s trauma may seem more significant than someone else’s – but that is not for us to judge. Whatever situation a person endures, the emotional pain that that person feels is a uniting factor for us all.
Happy reading, I hope it helps you on your way to ‘finding your way’.
